A MESSAGE FROM OUR PASTOR
As we look into the month of February, our hearts are always turned to the theme of love.Love is a verb.It is what we choose to do.It expresses admiration, compassion, concern, and appreciation toward others.I think of specific questions I would ask myself, and challenge you to do the same.
1.How is our love for God?“God has already proven His love for us, in that, while we were once sinners, Christ died for us.” (Romans 5:8)If He never did anything else for us, He’s already done enough in the provisions that are ours through our faith in Christ. But, how much do we love Him?I strive, everyday, to find more ways to serve Him and to honor Him through the things I do in my daily life.Why?Because of my appreciation and admiration for the Lord and His love for me, even when I am unlovable.He loves me, even when I’ve been a stinker.He deserves my quest to find more ways to show my love for Him.
Our Statewide Handbell Festival that we hosted was Great!! There were over 340 participants from 28 chuches throughout the state of Georgia. Christine Anderson was a great clinician as always! I had many to tell me that they thought this was the best festival ever. I could not have done it without the help of our people volunteering. I want to say a big "Thank You" to everyone who had a part in making it happen. From set up to clean-up, we had a host of people envolved. Too many for me to name here. You know who you are and know that I appreciate your contribution!!!
We look now to Mother's Day and Father's Day recognition and celebration. Also, end of the year programs for Weekday Preschool and Awanas. Then we gear up for our Summer Shine '09 Celebration each Sunday evening during the summer. Be watching for more information as we get closer.

Prayer is the place of admitting our need, of adopting humility, and claiming dependence upon God. Prayer is the needful practice of the Christian. Prayer is the exercise of faith and hope. Prayer is the privilege of touching the heart of the Father through His Son, Jesus Christ our Lord.
Our Prayer Center is open to members of Heatherwood Baptist Church and our community. If you need prayer, we would be very happy to pray for you.
